On my latest wander with camera in hand, I was most drawn to nature in all of its beautiful, textured detail. Prairie grasses waving in the wind, and groups of stumps arranged in interesting patterns — thought I’d share a few of the photos that I took that day.
My sister and I went home to visit our family this weekend. I say the same thing every time, but it was so lovely to be out in the country and to have time to visit and relax. Elaine and I were feeling very thankful for each other… both so happy that we have a mutual love for photography and for wandering off the beaten path. The highlights of the weekend were the northern lights and star photography, trudging through the snow in the Cypress River valley and eating soup, sandwiches and pie in the community hall.
My sister Elaine and I went for a lovely long walk down The Forks river trail. Next time I plan to go back with skates, but for this time, it was nice to walk. We didn’t make it down the Assiniboine River leg, but we did do most of the Red River leg, stopping along the way to check out the warming huts. It was so sunny and beautiful out today — a little windy at times, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. I’m so thankful to have this yearly skating and walking path created in our city.
