My Mom and I just got back from a 16-day trip to New Zealand and Australia. It turned out to be a very random trip (in my opinion, the best kind), with visits to family, old friends, new friends, farm and city. The following photos are a few visual highlights.

My sister and I saw an owl in Assiniboine Forest today! It was quite big, and perched on this tree branch for a few minutes before flying away. I believe it was a great horned owl, but would appreciate it if a birder can confirm. Please let me know!

A winter visit home

My sister and I went home to visit our family this weekend. I say the same thing every time, but it was so lovely to be out in the country and to have time to visit and relax. 50 days (a new project)

TheDailyPhoto-Week1
In an effort to use my SLR camera on a regular basis, and get used to my new lens, I’ve started a new photography project called 50 days. My goal is to improve my photography skills, and get into a creative head space again. I’ve noticed over the last couple of years that while my technical skills are improving, my conceptual photos are getting few and far between. So my hope is that I’ll see some improvement over the next while.
